The Student Residence Hall (Fititiki Estia) is situated within the campus, on N. Kazantzaki Str., about 300 metres East from the Administration Building. The Hall shelters 880 single-study bedrooms with recreational facilities, a large restaurant, a theatre, an indoor swimming- pool, snack-bars. Accommodation costs about 4 Euro per day.

There is also a smaller Student Residence Hall at Proastion, situated about four (4) Kilometers East of the Campus, which is owned by the University and operated by the Directorate of Students Affairs. Monthly cost, including tax and bank charges: a) Single-room 100 Euro b) Double-room 140 Euro. A deposit is required which is usually equivalent to one month's fee. The deposit is returned to the student at the end of the accommodation period, provided that the room is in good condition.

A number of students find shared or by themselves accommodation in the city, mainly in rented flats. A typical student's flat has a single bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. Some students rent two bedroom flats which can be shared. In the campus area, a single bedroom flat costs about 300 Euro and a double bedroom about 350 Euro per month. These prices do not include electricity, water, heating and shared maintenance expenses. Therefore a student should allow about 100 Euro more for these expenses. The first month's rent and a deposit, which is usually equivalent to one month's cost, is paid before the student/s move in, as a guarantee against any damage. The deposit or a portion of it, depending on the condition of the flat at the time of departure, will be refunded when the students moves out. There are advertisements for flats in the daily local newspapers.

Some students stay in hotels with reduced prices by direct arrangement. In any case it is important to plan your budget very carefully from the beginning and to make realistic financial provisions in order to meet your expenses without any problem.

The University of Patras supports its students to find accommodation opportunities and search for rented flats around the University area and in the city of Patras using the site http://erent.upatras.gr/ (In Greek).
