The University of Patras is located in the Campus of Patras and in the city of Agrinio.

The Campus of Patras is situated in the suburb Rion which is 7 km North East of the City of Patras within the Municipality of Patras. Rio has become a very important transportation junction for Western Greece especially since the development of the bridge Rion-Antirrion which connects Patras' easternmost suburb of Rio to the town of Antirrio, connecting the Peloponnese peninsula with mainland Greece giving residents and visitors quick and easy access by car to Mainland Greece and Epirus (Sterea Ellada & Epirus) as well a frequent ferry boat service. Nowadays, the suburb of Rio has developed into a lively destination with plenty of schools, commercial shops, restaurants, amusements centres and hotels. The University Regional General Hospital of Patras is located next to the University of Patras. The seafront of Rio with its pebbled beaches, clear blue waters and restaurants is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions within the prefecture of Achaia. There are many choices of entertainment for the residents of Rio and Patras. One of the highlights of Rio is a large fortress with bastions and a courtyard that is surrounded by a sunken stone fence and is built on the sea border of Rio and which stands out like an ornament.
