The MSc course Electronics and Information Processing has interdisciplinary character and promotes education and research in the recording - reception and processing, of signals, images and multi parameter data generated by natural processes. Also deals with biomedical, biometric and remote sensing signals and is closely linked to the fields of Natural sciences, Medicine, Biology and Informatics.

The course is coordinated by the department of Physics, University of Patras while Computer Engineering & Informatics, Biology and Medicine are the other departments involved in the program.

Studies are completed in 18 months and their aim is to train and acquire basic knowledge on digital techniques related to image and multi-channel data acquisition, processing and analysis.

There is particular emphasis on computer vision systems and associated implementation techniques. The course is running since 2002-2003 and its secretariat support is provided by the Department of Physics.
