The Master Programme “Higher Education Policy: Theory and Praxis” is organised jointly by the Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras, the Department of Primary Education of the University of the Aegean and the Department of Social and Educational Policy of the University of the Peloponnese on an inter-departmental and inter-institutional basis. The Programme is addressed to first-cycle graduates with various scientific backgrounds and its purpose and its aim are to offer these graduates both postgraduate specialisation and theoretical in-depth education, in a multidisciplinary perspective, in topics related to higher education policy, on the one hand as an autonomous study field within the areas of educational policy and education sciences and on the other hand as a social institution and as a field for policy development and policy implementation at national, European and international level. In this context, the Programme aims to deliver high level post-graduate education and accordingly to provide the Master students with appropriate qualifications and competences that will make them capable for a potential career on a double basis; on the one hand, by following a scientific career in the field of higher education policy continuing their studies at doctoral level with a research/academic perspective, and on the other hand, by following a professional career in higher education (policy making, management, planning, quality assurance and accreditation, etc.) both at national and institutional levels.
