The Departments of the University are closely co-operating with the following Research Institutes that are located in the University Campus area:

(Co-operating with the Department
of Computer Engineering and Informatics).

Chemical Engineering and High Temperature Processes (Co-operating
with the Department of Chemical Engineering).

Industrial Systems
Institute (Co-operating with the Department of Electrical and
Computer Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and
Aeronautics).
Moreover, the following Institutes have been recently founded by the Senate:
- Institute of Nanocrystalline and Amorphous Materials (Co-operating with the Department of Engineering Sciences).
- Institute of Environmental and Applied Biology (Co-operating with the Department of Biology).
- Institute of Genetic Diseases and Biomedical Research (Co-operating with the Department of Biology and the Faculty of Medicine).
