Περίληψη
This presentation gives an overview of the Polish emergency medical education system. It presents three levels of emergency response: First Aid, Qualified First Aid, and the paramedic profession. The presentation explains the legal framework, training pathways, scope of competences, and selected current developments related to ERC 2025 guidelines. Special attention is given to the role of non-medical first responders, the structure of paramedic education, and the integration of updated resuscitation standards into teaching and practice in Poland.

Senior Brigadier Karina Jarosławska-Kolman, MSc Eng., has been a member of the academic staff of Akademia Pożarnicza since 2002 and is currently Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services. She is a paramedic and a graduate of postgraduate studies in emergency medicine. Over the years, she has coordinated academic cooperation with the Medical University of Warsaw and served for six years as the coordinator of emergency medical services for The Fire Academy. Her extensive practical experience, including medical volunteering at the Woodstock Festival and participation in scientific and research projects, informs her innovative approach to teaching in the fields of emergency medical services and disaster medicine. Her professional work focuses on emergency medical education, simulation-based training, first responder education, and the development of paramedic training within higher education and uniformed services. She is involved in teaching, curriculum development, and academic cooperation in the field of emergency medicine, public safety, and crisis preparedness.& p;She is the founder and academic supervisor of the Emergency Medical Services Section at Akademia Pożarnicza and one of the key contributors to the establishment and launch of the Emergency Medical Services degree programme at the Academy.
