The M.Sc Program in "Agricultural and Rural Economics and Policy" of the Department of Economics, University of Patras, is designed to expand the knowledge of the theoretical and applied dimensions of economics and policy for the agricultural sector, the management of natural resources and the environment, and integrated rural development. The course lasts two semesters and is addressed mainly to graduate students who wish to acquire the necessary knowledge and analytical tools in these fields and pursue successful careers in related entities of general public (central, regional and local administration, development agencies) and private (agricultural cooperatives and associations, environmental organizations, businesses in the food sector, financial institutions, etc.) sectors. The course is also addressed to those who wish to embark in Doctoral Studies. This M.Sc. course provides a modern theoretical basis and upgraded economic analytical skills in both, core economics courses (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Quantitative Methods), and related field courses (Agricultural Economics and Policy, Rural Development Economics, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Special Topics in Agricultural Cooperatives, Special Topics in Rural Spatial Planning, International Agricultural Trade, etc.).
