The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program Informatics for Life Sciences is coorganized by the Departments of Medicine, Computer Engineering and Informatics, Pharmacy and Biology of the University of Patras.

We aim to provide high quality education in Life Sciences Informatics with prospects in both academia and industry. Graduates will be able to perform independent research in the field of Life Sciences Informatics and solve life sciences problems by developing novel informatics tools (databases, data acquisition, analysis and visualization, data mining, models). The program aims to meet educational, research, health, technological and social needs and contribute to the development of this interdisciplinary scientific field.

The program enrolls up to 30 graduate students per year, with a first degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemistry etc) or Informatics and related fields (Physics, Mathematics, Engineering etc) and leads to the award of  a Master's Degree (MSc)

It offers a specialization in one of two streams:
* Bioinformatics
* Medical Informatics
The studying period for the MSc Program is 1.5 years (3 semesters, 90 ECTS) and includes specialization courses, a thesis and leads to the award of:

  • Master’s Degree (MSc)

Teaching is in Greek and English. There are no fees
