Alexandros N. Angelopoulos was born in Athens in 1972. He studied Business Administration at Boston University and then attended the graduate program in International Management at Boston College. He is Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Aldemar Resorts Group, which he joined in 1994. With long-term experience in tourism and business, he has been intensively involved in organizations and corporate associations. He is Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Hellenic Association of Entrepreneurs (EENE), Board Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Secretary General of the Heraklion Hoteliers Association and member of the Leadership Council of Boston University in Greece. Since 2010 he has been Honorary Consul of Ukraine for the Peloponnese. He has also been active in the academic field, giving lectures, mentoring students and young people in business, as well as teaching “Sustainable Development in Tourism” in the Bioeconomy, Circular Economy and Sustainable Development MSc program at the University of Piraeus. As a pioneer in sustainability issues in the tourism industry, he was awarded the title of “Sustainability Leader” at the 2021 Hellenic Responsible Business Awards following a closed jury vote. In addition to sustainability, other topics he specializes in and are always high on his agenda are: Hospitality Economy, Silver Tourism, Regional Development, The New Tourism Model, Human Resource Management etc.
